PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) - The mother of a brain-damaged woman is pleading for her daughter's life, a day after Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed on a judge's order.
Mary Schindler spoke to reporters outside a Florida hospice where, in her words, her daughter is "starving to death." She said she's begging everyone from Florida lawmakers to President Bush to "please save my little girl."
Three men have been arrested on trespassing charges after trying to storm the hospice this morning, carrying bread and water. Although Schiavo cannot eat or drink, supporters say the move had symbolic value.
A spokesman says the family is asking for peaceful protests and doesn't want supporters to engage in civil disobedience.
Schiavo's husband says removing the tube is what Terri wanted.
