In the end, the evidence just didn't add up, jurors in the Michael Jackson case told reporters on Thursday, after acquitting the pop star on all counts, including conspiracy, molestation and giving alcohol to a minor.
"I don't want to give the impression that this was a slam-dunk deal," one of the jurors was quoted as saying: "We challenged the issues and we came to the decision that pointed to reasonable doubt."
Some of the jurors said they blamed the mother of the alleged victim: "Speaking for myself and other jurors, we thought, ''What mother in her right mind would allow that to happen, you know, just freely volunteer your child to sleep with someone, and not so much Michael Jackson, but any person, for that matter."
