Charges Dropped Against USS Cole Bomber !

The senior military judge overseeing terror trials at Guantanamo Bay has dropped charges against a suspect in the 2000 USS Cole bombing.

The legal move by the Hon. Susan J. Crawford upholds President Obama's Guantanamo order to halt court proceedings at the Navy detention center in Cuba.

The military charges against suspected Al Qaeda bomber Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri marked the last active war crimes case at Guantanamo Bay.

Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said Crawford dismissed the charges against al-Nashiri without prejudice. That means new charges can be brought again later. He will remain in prison for the time being.

"It was her decision, but it reflects the fact that the president has issued an executive order which mandates that the military commissions be halted, pending the outcome of several reviews of our operations down at Guantanamo," Morrell said Thursday night.

The ruling also gives the White House time to review the legal cases of all 245 terror suspects held there and decide whether they should be prosecuted in the U.S. or released to other nations.

Retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Kirk Lippold, who was commander of the USS Cole when it was attacked in Yemeni waters in 2000, told FOX News that he was invited to the White House on Friday for a special meeting with Obama.

Lippold decried Obama's request to delay all pending trials at Guantanamo. But he told FOX News he "will go with an open mind and wait to see and hear what President Obama has to offer."

This is unreal folks...we will dismiss charges on one of the Cole bombers so that he is not arraigned at GITMO, but we will continue to hold him WITHOUT CHARGES. Talk about hypocrisy. I love the explanation of Charges can be dismissed without prejudice: That means that new charges CAN be brought up later. That's true folks but notice it does not say WILL be brought up later.

You've got to love this part too: The legal move by the Hon. Susan J. Crawford.

HONORABLE, what is HONORABLE about dismissing charges against a terrorist who is suspected of killing 17 US Sailors and damaging a US Ship !

This is a RIDICULOUS ruling and shows what is in store for us under Obama when it comes to National Security and the War on Terror !

Obama 'Tired of Being in White House'

On the rockiest day of his young administration, President Obama did what surely made him happy for a while. He left. With little notice, the president and first lady Michelle Obama bolted the gated compound of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in their tank of a limousine on Tuesday. They ended up at a Washington public school, greeted by children.

"We were just tired of being in the White House," the president candidly told the gleeful second-graders at Capital City Public Charter School.

"We got out! They let us out!" Mrs. Obama said as the kids and their teachers laughed.

Wow, two weeks into his stint as President and Obama is "tired of being in the White House". Just think folks, he only has three years and 50 weeks to go !

Poll: Only 38 % Support Obama Stimulus Plan

James Pethokoukis

A new Gallup poll finds that only 38 percent of Americans want the Obama stimulus plan passed without major changes. Nor do they have a whole lot of confidence in it:

While the majority of Americans favor Congress' passing some type of stimulus plan, there is remarkably little confidence on the part of the public that the plan would have an immediately positive impact on the U.S. economy. Americans are also pessimistic about the plan's potential positive impact on their own families' financial situations.
