Recent Poll: Majority Oppose Impeachment of President Trump


61% of voters say Congress should not begin the impeachment process against President Donald Trump according to a recent Quinnipiac poll.

Only 33% of them favored the start of impeachment proceedings.

Here's the poll break down:

97% of Republican voters opposed Congress beginning the process to impeach Trump, compared to 2% who favored it.

32% of Democrats opposed beginning the impeachment process, while 62% favored it.

57% of independents opposed beginning the impeachment process, compared to 35% who favored it.

50% said Trump does not deserve to be impeached, while 44% said he does.

57% believed President Donald Trump committed crimes before taking office, while 29% disagreed

45% said Trump committed crimes while in office, compared to 45% who said he did not.

55% said that special counsel Robert Mueller’s report did not clear Trump of any wrongdoing, while 35% said it did.

69% said presidents should be able to be charged with a crime while in office. 24% said presidents should only be charged with a crime after leaving office.

The poll, conducted June 6-10, surveyed 1.214 voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
