Well, here we go again, another member of the Hollywood Elite biting the hand that feeds him. Johnny Depp (or Johnny Dip as I see it) was reported to have said, "America is dumb, is something like a dumb puppy that has big teeth, that can bite and hurt you, aggressive". The actor who spends most of his time in France, told the German magazine, Stern, that in the present political climate, he will spend as little time as possible in his Los Angeles home, according to the Associated Press. He lives in france with his French wife and actress and their two children. He went on to say "My daughter is four, my son is one. I'd like them to see America as a toy, a broken toy. Investigate it a little, check it out, get this feeling and then get out. He also ridiculed the House Cafeteria for renaming French Fries, Freedom Fries after France refused to support the U.S. in the Iraq War. He stated "Nothing made me happier than when I read that- grown men and grown women in positions of power in the United States government", I was ecstatic because they revealed themselves as idiots.
The very next day, Mr. Depp was denying any anti-american sentiment, saying his remarks were taken out of context. He states that he is an American, loves his country and has great hopes for it. "It is for that reason that I speak candidly and sometimes critically about it. I have benefited greatly from the freedom that exists in my country and for this I am eternally greatful."
Well Mr. Dipp, (I mean Depp) you are out so why don't you STAY OUT.! Who needs you or your ridiculous rantings. Who in the hell do you think you are ?

No, Mr. Depp, the only person who reveals himself as an "Idiot " is you ! At least those men and women in the United States government had one thing you don't, Respect and loyalty for their country ! That's something you wouldn't know about ! You're too busy counting the money you make from hard working Americans who go to see your movies ! Maybe not anymore though. Your insulting remarks about your country and how you feel about it also reflects what you think about the american people. The only way that people in this country can reveal themselves as idiots now is to patronize one of your movies after your uncalled for and ridiculous remarks. Stay in France Mr. Depp, you two deserve each other, you are two peas in a pod.
By the way, Johnny Dipp is currently starring in "Pirates of the Caribbean" you may want to avoid it at the theaters or on video, after all, why finance a person who thinks we're "Dumb Puppies", lets be "smart puppies" and not patronize his movies.

Congratulations, you are the prime example of the "American Idiot" that Johnny Depp was referring to. His point with the whole "Freedom Fries" statement was this: How the HELL can those politicians justify wasting so much energy to change the "French" to "Freedom" when there are far more important matters to be concerned with... such as, oh, I DON'T KNOW, the war (and everything that goes along with it: casualties, foreign policy, the LACK of weapons of mass destruction!)

I think you are a very ignorant person, To say that you HAVE to agree with everything America stands for is ignorant! I love America, it's my home. It is the land of opportunity and i love the troops that are supporting it and i support THE TROOPS 110%. Now, having said that, I do NOT support the war, or the idiot president that started the whole thing. America is at it's worst at the present time and to say that AMERICANS and those around us don't see that, and cannont make a comment on it is stupid. We live in a country where there is freedom of speech at anytime, not in a country where there is freedom of speech as long as you don't say anything about america and those who "run" it. And i use the term RUN as loosley as possible. get a life, Learn your facts, and live a little. P.S. I love Pirates of the Carribean!
Oh dear Lord... it's people like you that give your country a bad name. From the outside looking in you look the totally brain-washed fool which unfortunately so many of your fellow countrymen are also. Don't get me wrong, the UK government aren't much better in terms of their misguided loyalty to the US. They think with their wallets and willingly lie to the people who voted them - sometimes reluctantly - into power. Has anyone found those weapons yet? They sure as hell found the oil quickly enough.
As for Johnny Depp? Good on him. Whether he meant it as anti-American (which he bloody well should have) or not, he was right in being critical. Why have influence and the ability to have your voice heard if you're not going to use it? How about Green Day, Bono and the lads, and all the others in the public domain who have people who listen to them? I didn't see anyone boycotting concerts or appearances for them. In the REAL world, not that fantasy land some of you appear to live in, people listen to opinions, let them have their say when it comes to politics... thought 'Freedom of speech' went with your Freedom Fries. Having a blog to bad-mouth those who give a damn enough to say something really shows how small minded you are. There is a world outside of the United States and perhaps JD's exposure to such (as well as common sense) actually struck a chord in an educated mind.
Well done, Johnny. From that moment in 2003 I had more respect for you than ever. To you, however, my expectations of the average American have dropped even further.
