Clips show Alexis arriving, entering and carrying a shotgun





FBI Video footage from closed-circuit video cameras shows Aaron Alexis, now deceased, at the Washington Navy Yard on September 16, 2013.

The footage includes the following:

- Alexis drives his rental car, a blue Toyota Prius, through the Washington Navy Yard main gate.

- Alexis enters Building #197 carrying a backpack. Alexis had legitimate access to the Washington Navy Yard as a result of his work as a contractor and he utilized a valid pass to gain entry to the building.

- Alexis moves through the hallways and a stairwell of Building #197 carrying a Remington 870 shotgun.

Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons: No Evidence To Support More Gun Control

In their never ending battle to stop law abiding American citizens from owning firearms the anti-gun lobby will do whatever it takes to restrict Americans ownership of guns. They have shown this willingness to exploit tragedies in attempts to gain supporters while families and victims grieve, all in the name of their agenda . President Obama recently made anti-gun remarks during a memorial service for the victims of the Navy Yard Shooting.

One of the anti-gun groups arguments is that less firearms equals less violence, seems to make sense on the surface and is many times accepted as fact. But unfortunately for the anti-gun movement and fortunately for us, the anti-gun facts don't add up.

Enter  the fall issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons and Jane M. Orient, M.D. arguing that there is no evidence-based support for more gun control.  The statistics gun-control advocates cite are hand-picked from larger data sets that show no correlation between more gun laws and less violence.

The facts are since 1993, homicides with firearms and other crimes with firearms are down significantly (39 and 69 percent, respectively). Using the gun-control line of thinking, one would expect there to be significantly fewer firearms now than in 1993. Nothing could be further from the truth. That period of decreased violence actually corresponds with a substantial increase in the number of guns owned by Americans.

It seems clear those interested in reducing violent crime would be better served not by passing new laws to restrict access to firearms for law-abiding citizens, but by enforcing the laws already on the books.

Navy Shipyard Shooter Created Website With Name "Mohammed Salem"

 

It has been reported that Aaron Alexis, the Navy Yard Shooter, had created a webpage under the name of Mohammed Salem.

 

Buried in a report by NBC News entitled "Navy Yard gunman's mother says she is heartbroken and sorry for families" was this little nugget:

Law enforcement officials told NBC News that Alexis created a webpage with the name "Mohammed Salem," but they said he never did anything with it. They said they had found nothing else that might indicate any interest in violent jihad or even in Islam.

  An article in The Daily Caller asked this question:

Are we allowed to ask why this mass-murderer would’ve created a site called “Mohammed Salem”? Was he a fan of Emirati soccer player Mohammed Salem Saleh Al Saadi? Did he appreciate the work of Palestinian photojournalist Mohammed Salem, or the Dubai news anchor with the same name? Or perhaps one of the other Mohammed Salems out there in the world?

While these explanations could certainly be the case it does not mean that  Aaron Alexis could not be somehow influenced or connected to jihadists or their ways. To dismiss this would be as flawed as all the problems he had and apparently well known, that were dismissed.  This requires further thorough investigation. Don't expect the Obama administration or the Main Stream News Media to do so, they were too quick to jump on the Buddhist band wagon. Quick to dismiss any possible links to Islamic Jihadists. Buddhists are usually very peaceful so one wonders how he could practice Buddhism but yet be so violent.

Google Mohammed Salem and you will come up with hundreds of names, so yes, in and of itself it means little, but couple it with his behavior and his final acts and it certainly cannot just be dismissed. Does anyone think because he was paranoid, hearing voices and playing violent video games all day that he could not possibly be influenced by terrorists?  Look at any terrorist action, look at some of the barbaric acts that are carried out by them, torturing and beheading innocent people, especially children, these people are NUTS, so someone of Alexia ilk would find them a perfect fit.
